Last night I had the pleasure of attending an incredible event that combines 3 of my favorite things….fashion, chocolate and reading!
Yes…. Charity in Chocolate (formerly Sweet Charity) brings together DC’s best chefs, who go all out to offer AMAZING samplings of savory and sweet chocolate concoctions. Think bacon and chocolate truffles and chocolate pasta with lobster….just to name a few, and served in a venue decked out to the nines…The National Building Museum.
Drinks, food AND a FASHION SHOW with models dressed in clothing made of Chocolate! Incredible you say? That is what I thought! 900 of us gathered to enjoy this incredible event while raising money for The Heart of America Charity which celebrated 15 years of buying NEW books for children who have never had the experience of enjoying a new book of their own.
They also have completely refurbished over 120 libraries in impoverished schools and empowered volunteers to donate 100’s of 1000’s of hours of reading to children all over the nation. What an amazing Charity!!!! Last night they honored Leah Gansler with the Hero of the Heart Award for her work through Charity Works.
