It’s always a thrill when you get to impress your kids but when that involves meeting a hunky “superhero” (Hawkeye), even better! Tuesday night, I attended a screening of Kill the Messenger, Michael Cuesta’s new biopic starring Jeremy Renner, at the Motion Picture Association of America. D.C. was a perfect backdrop from which to be transported to the era of the Nicaraguan Contras and the American drug trade.
For those too young to remember, Garry Webb, the main character in this film, was the journalist who exposed the government involvement (spoiler alert) in this scandal. Chris Matthews moderated a Q and A with Renner and Cuesta, drinks and delicious food followed. Thank you Capitol File, our hosts. Check out this month’s men’s issue for more on Jeremy Renner.
