Val and I had such great time learning more about the incredible work that Award- winning actor Gary Sinise is doing through the foundation he began in 2011. In his words, the Gary Sinise Foundation was created to “serve our Nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.”
At an intimate lunch hosted by our friends at Capitol File Magazine, Mr. Sinise spoke from the heart with humor and candor about how his iconic role as Lt. Dan in the Academy Award winning film Forrest Gump inspired this personal mission to support our nation’s defenders. He does this through community enriching and strengthening programs designed to inspire and educate as much as support.
His band hosts concerts to raise funds and he uses his celebrity to raise awareness. I am thrilled that we are going to be working with Mr. Sinise and the Gary Sinise foundation in 2014 to support this amazing effort.
