But it is also a great opportunity to participate in the community, whether it’s cheering on your family members or running/walking a race yourself, Turkey trots are an amazing way to get involved with the community and support those who need it most. So we compiled a list of some local turkey trots that you will have the opportunity to participate in this year.
Trot for Hunger Washington DC

The 21st annual Trot for Hunger is happening in DC this thanksgiving at freedom plaza. Funds raised from this event go towards assisting thousands of dc residents, including families and the elderly to assist with housing, food, healthcare, and more. There is an option to participate in a Turkey 1 miler or the 5k.

Fairfax Turkey Trot

Join the Fairfax turkey trot for its 10th anniversary. Run, walk, or trot and support the local community. All proceeds benefit Britepath formerly known as (Our Daily Bread). Britepath works to provide assistance to low-income families of Fairfax through emergency assistance, financial literacy, and one on one mentoring.

Arlington Turkey Trot

The 17th annual Arlington turkey trot fun run is happening on Thanksgiving day this year. A 5k run/walk event, all proceeds go to 18 nonprofit beneficiaries that support the Arlington local community in a variety of ways. Over the past 16 years, the Arlington Turkey trot has managed to raise over $1 Million dollars to help the local community.

Vienna Turkey Trot
November 20th, 2022
Starting at the Vienna Volunteer fire department, the 20th annual Vienna Turkey trot will be benefitting the JMHS “Pride of Vienna” Band and the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department. With an option to run a 5k or a 10k, there is plenty of opportunity to come out and support! Following the race there is also the finish line festival, so come out and support them!

Prince William Turkey Trot and Mashed Potato Mile

Fun Run Racing is partnered with Heros Bridge and the Sweet Julia Grace Foundation. Heroes bridge assists elderly veterans of World war II Vietnam and Korean wars, While the Sweet Julia grace foundation serves families with children with special needs, who are seriously ill or are currently facing a medical crisis. Starting at the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center in Manassas this 5k is not one to miss.
