This is a very important commitment we have made toward the conservation effort since there are chemicals involved in the mining for gold that are ,often times, NOT environmentally friendly (beginning in the 1890’s, cyanide has been used to recover gold from gold bearing ores and continues to be the prevailing technique for Gold mining). When we purchase gold that has been recycled, we are cutting down on the need to mine for NEW gold. A point worth sharing! If you are looking for ways to be “green with gold”, consider taking your old chains, earrings with no pairs, damaged or broken jewelry and “redesigning” them into something new. You have the component parts, YOUR VERY OWN RECYCLED GOLD.
